The original and primary TransVA Mountain 565 route from DC to Damascus is the original and most challenging option. In 2020 the Valley 535 route was introduced, offering a more approachable experience with less climbing and better maintained gravel roads.

The DC-Hburg 400 Loop route was added in 2022, revised in 2023 to offer simpler transportation logistics. The shorter, DC-Hburg 215 is the same as the first part of the Valley 535 route one-way from DC to Harrisonburg, VA. More information can be found on the pages for each specific route, including resupply points, GPX downloads, suggested itineraries, and bike/gear recommendations.

Early 2021, routes were adapted to detour around White’s Ferry, which has ceased operations; these updates are incorporated into route information now. 2023 routes include a return to Featherbed Lane in Loudoun County, and a reroute of the 400 Loop to include gravel roads east of Harrisonburg on Massanutten Western Slope and Cub Run Rd.
